I picked up the Becca Eye Tint in Pewter at the same time as the Becca Lost Weekend palette and I must say it’s my favorite out of the two. Despite some of the issues I have with the application of the product, I wouldn’t give up my tube of Pewter for anything. The colour is beautiful as a wash on the lid by itself, and it’s spectacular as a base product for a range of smoky eye looks.
Colour:
Straight out of the tube, Pewter is a dark gunmetal pewter colour. When blended on the lids you end up with a translucent taupish gunmetal wash. I usually blend 2-3 layers of the Eye Tint with a finger to get my desired intensity.
Texture:
The Becca Eye Tints are cream/liquid eye shadows that quickly dry to a perfect lightweight waterproof finish once blended on the lid.
One of the main problems I have with Pewter Eye Tint is the separation of the product in the tube. Even after shaking and kneading the tube, the product often squirts out as a separated mix of a thin watery liquid and the normal product, which leads to a bit of mess. If anyone knows how to get around this problem please let me know!
Performance:
Lasting power and crease resistance of Pewter Eye Tint is excellent, and it performs very well as a base for powder shadows. I find that it not only intensifies dark powder shadows, but it also really brings out any duochrome or opalescence of the eye shadow (this is why I love using it as a base under my NARS Dogon Duo)
The NARS Dogon EOTD above was sneakily taken from a draft FOTD post which will go live in soon. Watch this space.
