Illamasqua Naked Strangers Collection Promo

It’s always an exciting time when a new Illamasqua collection comes out. Seeing the promo images and the story behind each collection is a huge treat for me and highlights the ‘art’ in makeup artistry.

The Naked Strangers collection by Illamasqua features a kind of nomad slash goddess slash warrior; she is adorned by an interesting mixture of brazen metallics and soft pinky nudes. Although it does feature some bold, editorial type products, Naked Strangers is one of the more wearable collections from Illamasqua.

Illamasqua says…

In this delicate tipping point between intimacy and pleasurable detachment, we revel in the unknown; exploring the distance between pure monogamous, gilded faithful and uninhibited swinger. Exposed nude tones, adorned with rich licks of gold, leave you gasping for more. Don’t restrain yourself. Unless, of course, you enjoy it.

Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Naked Rose

Naked Rose is described as a ‘neutral beige brown’, but on my cheeks it looks more like a dusty neutral rose. Quite a sophisticated cheek colour which goes well with almost any look.

Like the other Illamasqua powder blushes, Naked Rose is quite soft and highly pigmented so one swipe of the brush will pick up a fair amount of product; it also blends beautifully giving you a very natural healthy looking flush to the cheek. This is my favourite product in this collection.

Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss Stranger

Illamasqua Intense Lipglosses are not for the faint of heart. Stranger is no exception- being an unflinchingly loud and incredibly pigmented molten platinum gold. Illamasqua Stranger lipgloss has a non sticky, gel like/cushiony texture which feels comfortable on the lips.

To be honest, I haven’t worked up the courage to wear this one out in public on my lips yet, but I am having fun with this as a slick of sparkle on my lids. Because it’s so pigmented, only a tiny bit of product blended out on the lid is needed for a sheer sparkly champagne gold effect so even though it is a lip gloss it doesn’t feel sticky or heavy on the lids- and because it’s such a thin layer, it resists creasing until the 5hr mark.

RRP AUD$33

 Illamasqua Nail polish in Swinger

Swinger is a super pigmented pale gold- it applies almost opaque in a single layer and pretty much streak free. A shade that I find hard to pull off for work, but great on weekends.
