If you follow my tweets and instagram you might remember me foaming at the mouth at how my hair was totally destroyed at the last colour appointment. Note to self: when you feel the foil getting burning hot and you can smell your hair, it’s probably time to grab your colourist and remind them that you’ve still got bleach in your hair.
I was almost in tears on the way home from the appointment because I had patches of grey/ashy blonde in the middle of my strands, and my hair felt like straw. I had the colour darkened and somewhat corrected since then but the damage is irreversable.
Thankfully, I had some products from the Toni and Guy Hair Meets Wardrobe collection in my bathroom cabinet that works wonders on making shitty hair look polished. I followed the fantastic tutorial from the Hair Meets Wardrobe website for getting a super shiny sleek look. If you haven’t seen their tutorials, I highly recommend taking a look.
1. Deep condition the hell out of your hair. I used my Kerastase Nutri-Thermique mask (best investment ever, I reviewed it here)
2. Towel dry and apply the Toni & Guy Leave In conditioner from midlength to ends.
3. Mist hair with Toni & Guy Heat Protection Mist.
4. Blow dry with a bristle brush working in small sections at a time ( I used my new Mason Pearson pure bristle brush, which makes a surprising amount of difference to the final result. Review to come)
5. I used my GHD in some areas of my hair to get it as sleek as possible. (not the best thing for damaged hair but oh well!)
6. Applied Toni & Guy High Gloss Serum from midlength to ends. I used a small squirt, distributed evenly on my palms at a time – around 3 squirts in total because my hair is so straw like.
note: makeup look is the same as the one covered in this FOTD post.
Note: Toni & Guy products were sent to me by PR for consideration.

Hello everyone!
Today the Lipstick Bandit cohort of beauty bloggers unveil their exciting FOTD makeup looks inspired by another member of the Bandits. I’m terribly excited because up until the moment this post is published, each member’s assigned look is shrouded in complete secrecy- the only living person who knows which bandit is doing which look is our Bandit leader Rae of The Notice.
A month ago, I was sent an email a self destructing letter briefing me of my look swap. When I found out it was Xiao of Messy Wands, I gleefully did a Single White Female, and sifted through her FOTDs (most of which I had already seen in the past).
I based my look swap on this post, which is one of my favourite looks from Xiao.
Ms Messy Wands had a penchant for deep plummy lips, and through her I discovered the Make Up For Ever Waterproof Lip Liner in the merlot coloured #13C- which turns out to be the perfect base for a long lasting vampy lip.
I bought my MUFE Lip Liner from StrawberryNet since I don’t know of any MUFE retailers in Melbourne.
She also has the most amazing razor sharp model cheekbones, which I tried my best to carve out with some bronzer. I think plastic surgery would work better, but that would be overly creepy in that Single White Female way.

Hi everyone!
I have another makeup look inspired by a film character. Berenice Marlohe, who is half Cambodian and half French, looked incredibly in Skyfall- she oozed danger and sultriness as befits a Bond Girl.
I tried creating a more wearable version of her sooty feline-like smokey eye. In the end I wasn’t that happy with how the look photographed, but I had fun trying!

I had always admired their hand creams, and was glad to learn a few things about the brand (e.g. how to pronounce L’Occitane properly. I’m ashamed to admit I had been pronouncing it L’Ocki-tane for the longest time. Woops)
We were given some product as a gift, and I thought I would quickly show you guys these goodies since I think they would make fab Christmas gifts.
My favourite out of all the products is the Fleurs Merveilleuses Hand Cream. It smells wonderful, and it is both nourishing and fast absorbing- I have been using this product non stop. Trust me to fall in love with a limited edition item
