The Edit: Autumn/Winter 2013 Fashion Week Beauty Looks

I had a great time seeing the makeup artistry on the runways this season, and I’ve put together some of my favourite looks from Style.com here. Hope you enjoy these as much as I did!

Chanel

For the A/W 2013 runway, Peter Philips wanted makeup that would be beautiful close up and equally as eye catching from a distance. The silver sequins/jumbo glitter, which were placed from the inner corner of the eyes and extended outwards is makeup art perfection, and I can imagine the extra sequins placed on the model’s lashes would have caught the lights beautifully on the runway as they moved their eyes.

Thakoon

Dianne Kendal created an amazing dimensional smoky eye that brings to mind stars in the night sky. She layered 3 different types of glitter on top of NARS Outremer and the yet to be released NARS Solomon Islands Eye Paint to achieve the dazzling effect. Ah-mazing.

Givenchy

Eyeshadow with strong pinky red tones can be difficult to pull off, but at Givenchy, the peach and deep rose tones on the eyes is balanced so well with a pop of champagne on the inner corner. Edgy romanticism at it’s best.

Bottega Veneta

The Bottega Veneta woman this season was inspired by a combination of the 1940s and the 1970s- Marlene Dietrich meets Jodie Foster in ‘Taxi Driver’. I love the matte rusty red lip paired with the golden tones in the clothing. The hair style created by Guido Palau for Bottega Veneta is just spectacular, and is a good reminder that every girl needs a small diameter curling wand.

Jil Sander

I love the sculptural quality of the makeup look created by Pat McGrath for Jil Sander this season. Also- I’m a sucker for mustardy tones on the eyes lately. Will definitely have to try and recreate this chiselled graphic eye shadow with my new MAC Uninterrupted Pro Longwear eyeshadow.
