Sisley Mystery 4 Ombre Eyeshadow Palette and Lip Twist in Chestnut: Review

Sisley Mystery 4 Ombre Eyeshadow Palette and Lip Twist in Chestnut: FOTD

Sisley recently launched 2 new Phyto 4 Ombre eyeshadow palettes and some new shades to their Phyto Lip Twists collection. I had the opportunity to test out the Mystery eyeshadow palette (rrp 110 AUD)and the Phyto Lip Twist in Chestnut (rrp 50 AUD). I was particularly delighted with the Phyto Lip Twist in Chestnut- which turns out to be the perfect autumn lip.

These are available at Sisley counters at David Jones or through the David Jones website www.davidjones.com.au

Sisley Mystery 4 Ombre Eyeshadow Palette review

Mystery palette consists of 4 cool tones designed for a smoky eye:

Ivory – sheer white shimmer.

Matte black- pigmented charcoal black

Gun- moderately pigmented gunmetal grey

Denim -pigmented  metallic blue

These shadows have a soft creamy formula with varying degrees of pigmentation- the shimmery white shade is sheer and will need a stiff brush to pick up enough product, whereas the black shade is super pigmented that it’s easy to pick up too much product (I gave myself panda eyes a couple of times, so test on the back of your hand before going for the eyes!). The shadows are reasonably easy to blend, although I found the black one needs a bit more precision and careful blending on my eyes because of the dense pigmentation.

Although the pigmentation is great for the darker shades, I found that they tend to fade on my lids by about the 3 hour mark- a little below average for eyeshadows in general on me. I have oily lids, so longevity is difficult for a lot of eyeshadows I have used in the past, even with my Too Faced Shadow Insurance, and this may not be the case for other people.

IMG_9142 Phyto Lip Twist in Chestnut is a beautiful taupe-ish rose colour with a glossy finish, which is just gorgeous for autumn. It has medium pigmentation (more than I would have expected for this type of product), and surprisingly long lasting. Chestnut is lightly moisturising and feels comfortable on the lips.

It comes in a twist up “chubby stick” like dispenser, which has the convenience of not requiring sharpening (unlike other similarly styled products – NARS Velvet Gloss Pencil, I’m looking at you).
