Illamasqua Androgen Cream Pigment : a summer multi tasking hero

Illamasqua Androgen Cream Pigment

Illamasqua Androgen Cream Pigment

One of the products that appealed to me the most at the preview of the Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless collection was the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Androgen. Probably because Mikele (one of the MUAs at Illamasqua) was wearing it on his lids and cheeks and he looked so damn gorgeous.

I must admit I squee-ed a little when I saw Androgen in my event goody bag.

price: 44 AUD  (Australian rrp)  24 USD (US RRP)

availability: Illamasqua counters worldwide, Sephora , www.illamasqua.com

Epic haulage: NARS, Rouge Bunny Rouge, MAC, Edward Bess and more

L'Eau D'Issey, NARS Grand Palais Duo, Edward Bess Island Rose, NARS Outremer, Jack Black balms

L'Eau D'Issey, NARS Grand Palais Duo, Edward Bess Island Rose, NARS Outremer, Jack Black balms

Hello beautiful people!

I haven’t done a haul post for awhile so I thought it would be fun to show you what’s turned up in my mail box in the last 2 weeks. Plus, I’ve been itching to show you guys how pretty everything is!

The first photograph is the contents of my Neiman Marcus package (I used Shopaholiques mail forwarding service as usual because they don’t accept non-US credit cards).

So we have…

– Issey Miyake L’eau Dissey Purse spray : I basically live in L’eau D’issey and I’ve gotten sick of lugging around my 50mL bottle and continually losing the cap.

– NARS Grand Palais Eyeshadow Duo

– Edward Bess Compact Rouge in Island Rose for lips and cheeks

– NARS Outremer Single Eyeshadow

– Jack Black Vanilla and Lavender intense therapy lip balm: the scent is interesting.. reminds me exactly of how the store Perfect Potions smells inside. Hippy, but in a good way 🙂

– Two more backups of Jack Black Mint Intense Therapy lip balm.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis Blush, Abyssinian Catbird and Bejewelled Skylark eyeshadow, Murmurings lipstick

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis Blush, Abyssinian Catbird and Bejewelled Skylark eyeshadow, Murmurings lipstick

This is my package from Zuneta.com . I went a little crazy when Sarah from Dempeaux told me that it was free international shipping because Zuneta normally charges an arm and a leg for shipping to Australia and there’s nowhere else I can purchase Rouge Bunny Rouge products.

Blush as eye shadow? A Giorgio Armani Fall 2011 inspired FOTD

Sigrid Agren backstage at Armani Fall 2011 RTW

Hello you!

It’s coming to the end of the weekend, which always makes me sulky. There’s so much stuff that I planned to do but hadn’t, and I still have to pack for Sydney. It’s going to be a big 2 weeks ahead, with about 15hrs of driving back and forth between home and Sydney for a therapeutics professional development course. I hate driving.

So now that I’ve gotten my end of weekend whinge off my chest, let’s talk about makeup!

When the backstage images of Giorgio Armani Fall Ready To Wear 2011 came out, I fell in love with the satiny peach shades on the model’s lids contrasted with the edgy liner work. When the gorgeous Arianne of The Glitter Geek did her version of this look recently, I just had to try it myself.

I couldn’t find a decent neutral matte peachy-fawn shade in my eyeshadow collection (all my peachy eyeshadows were too pink or had too much shimmer) so I went through my blush collection and realised that Blushbaby powder blush from MAC was perfect.

Please excuse the gangsta face. I was trying to show the eyeshadow placement haha.

Youngblood Dusty Pink Crushed Mineral Blush and Champagne Ice Lipgloss: review and swatches

Youngblood was first created by Pauline Youngblood Soli, a licenced Medical Aesthetician, specifically for patients who had highly sensitive and traumatised skin whilst recovering from cosmetic procedures. Patients with raw and inflamed skin wanted makeup that would help cover their skin, and this makeup needed to allow the skin to breathe and heal properly.

Eventually Youngblood Cosmetics expanded their product line to include foundations, primers, lip products, eye shadows and is now a fixture in high end salons all over the world.

I was fortunate to be sent two Youngblood products to trial- ‘Dusty Pink’ Crushed Mineral Blush and ‘Champagne Ice’ Lip Gloss

Availability: (US site)  www.ybskin.com (AUS site) www.youngbloodmineralcosmetics.com.au and selected salons

Youngblood Champagne Ice lip gloss

In the tube it looks like a metallic peachy bronze, when applied ‘Champagne Ice’ looks like a light peachy nude with lots of icy white shimmer. The base colour, a peachy nude, is very very sheer, so you are mainly seeing the shimmer when the product is applied to pigmented lips like mine.  Personally I’m not a fan of metallics or pronounced shimmer in lip products on my lips, but I can see this looking very pretty on others.

It is non sticky, and wears very comfortably on the lips. Wear time is about average for a lipgloss on my me- 1.5 hrs before reapplication.

Keeping in line with the Youngblood aesthetic, the packaging of this gloss is streamlined, minimalist, and classy. It comes with your standard doe foot applicator.

I’ve also recently purchased the Youngblood lipgloss in ‘Guava’, which is absolutely STUNNING. I’m so excited about it and can’t wait to post my review and swatches!

In from the cold: FOTD featuring Chanel Extrait de Gloss ‘Impertinence’

Winter is the time for flushed, just-pinched cheeks, and plummy lips.

It’s also a kickass time for making mulled wine. I went over to Jamie and Anastasia’s the other night while they were making a large pot of this heavenly concoction, and their entire house was filled with the heady aroma of cinnamon, citrus, vanilla beans  and RUM. Rum is an essential part of getting through the winter around these parts.

That has nothing to do with the FOTD at all.
