The damage… IMATS Sydney 2011 Haul.

As many of you know, I went to my first ever IMATS in Sydney a couple of weeks ago along with 85 other bloggers (as part of ABBW 2011).

This is what I left with….

OCC Lip Tars: Memento, Beta, Stalker, NSFW

OCC Lip Tars: Memento, Beta, Stalker, NSFW

Lip Tars! They were $14.00 at IMATS so I stocked up.

Memento: light dusty pink

Beta: (blindingly) bright orange.

Stalker: Watermelon red

NSFW: True red with a very slight brown base.

From the MAC Pro store-

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20  (I was so happy to nab this because I missed getting it with the Pret A Papier collection, and the nearest MAC Pro store was a huge pain to get to).

Quite Natural Paint Pot: I bought this at IMATS because I was under the impression that it was a Pro product because of a conversation I had at a MAC counter a fortnight before this.

[at the MAC counter at Myer]

me: Do you stock Quite Natural paint pot?

MAC sales assistant: you mean, Painterly paint pot?  (clearly thinking I had said ‘do you stock a quite natural p/p)

me: um.. no, I’m after Quite Natural Paint Pot.

MAC sales assistant:  yes, Painterly gives a very natural look (looking at me like I’m deaf or possibly intellectually disabled)

me: Oh, no sorry I meant the actual Paint Pot called ‘Quite Natural’. I can’t see it on the display, is it a Pro product?

MAC sales assistant: It’s probably Pro or part of a previous limited edition collection.

Anyhow, turns out that it’s not a Pro product at all and I should have bought it from the MAC online store from the US like I normally do.

For Illamasqua, Inglot, and more – keep reading after the jump!

Epic haulage: NARS, Rouge Bunny Rouge, MAC, Edward Bess and more

L'Eau D'Issey, NARS Grand Palais Duo, Edward Bess Island Rose, NARS Outremer, Jack Black balms

L'Eau D'Issey, NARS Grand Palais Duo, Edward Bess Island Rose, NARS Outremer, Jack Black balms

Hello beautiful people!

I haven’t done a haul post for awhile so I thought it would be fun to show you what’s turned up in my mail box in the last 2 weeks. Plus, I’ve been itching to show you guys how pretty everything is!

The first photograph is the contents of my Neiman Marcus package (I used Shopaholiques mail forwarding service as usual because they don’t accept non-US credit cards).

So we have…

– Issey Miyake L’eau Dissey Purse spray : I basically live in L’eau D’issey and I’ve gotten sick of lugging around my 50mL bottle and continually losing the cap.

– NARS Grand Palais Eyeshadow Duo

– Edward Bess Compact Rouge in Island Rose for lips and cheeks

– NARS Outremer Single Eyeshadow

– Jack Black Vanilla and Lavender intense therapy lip balm: the scent is interesting.. reminds me exactly of how the store Perfect Potions smells inside. Hippy, but in a good way 🙂

– Two more backups of Jack Black Mint Intense Therapy lip balm.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis Blush, Abyssinian Catbird and Bejewelled Skylark eyeshadow, Murmurings lipstick

This is my package from . I went a little crazy when Sarah from Dempeaux told me that it was free international shipping because Zuneta normally charges an arm and a leg for shipping to Australia and there’s nowhere else I can purchase Rouge Bunny Rouge products.

Keep reading after the jump!

US Haul: NARS, MAC, Chanel, Chantecaille and more…

A few weeks ago I tried Chantecaille Lip Chics for the first time at Mecca Cosmetica, and decided that there was a Lip Chic shaped hole in my life.

The Aussie dollar being at record highs recently, I decided that it was time to do a US order. Of course, there were a few other things I needed to pick up, while I was there 🙂

This is what arrived in my package, mail forwarded through Shopoholiques:

– Chantecaille Lip Chic ‘Zinnia’

– NARS foundation pump

– NARS Dolce Vita lipstick

– MAC Blacktrack Fluidline

– MAC eyelash curler

– MAC Copperplate eye shadow refill

– Chanel Rouge Coco Shine ‘Boy’

– Illamasqua powder blush ‘Hussy’

– Bobbi Brown lip balm SPF 25

– Juice Beauty cleansing milk.

– Jack Black mint lip therapy

I can’t remember exactly which items were from where, but I purchased the products from Nordstroms, Sephora, and Barneys.  Not everything I wanted was available at a single online store, unfortunately but I made sure that I was getting free ground shipping to Shopoliques.

Cheeky Sephora Haul! Illamasqua, NARS, Korres, the Balm…

I’ve been gushing all afternoon about my package from Sephora on twitter, and a few of you asked to see some photos of what I ordered, so without further ado…
NARS Sheer Glow Fiji (I’m almost out of my bottle)
NARS Smudgeproof eye shadow primer
Illamasqua pigment in ‘Ore’
Illamasqua liquid metal in ‘Surge’
Illamasqua lipstick in ‘Ignite’
Korres lip butter ‘Mango’
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Zero (almost out of my current one)
the Balm Time Balm undereye concealor

I’ve already had a play with a few things and I can already say with confidance that the Korres lip butter is going to be my new staple.

Inglot Freedom System eyeshadow palette: first impressions

Inglot square eyeshadow freedom system palette

The boy and I hit Westfield Bondi Junction today because I wanted to look at makeup, and we both wanted to scour JB HiFi (which was on a storewide 20% off sale).

At JBs a lot of stuff was sold out the day before so we walked away with some unexpected choices- I bought Tom Waits ‘Nighthawks at the Diner’ even though I had it on my computer already, a Jamie Cullum album (I have always avoided him in case he was anything like Michael Buble, but he’s great!) and somehow, inexplicably, ended up with a Susan Boyle album as well.

Getting back on the topic of discussion, I went up to an Inglot counter for the first time, and from the first swatch I was smitten. There was a huge range of colours and finishes, and everything was soft and pigmented.

The ‘Freedom System’ is essentially a build-your-own-palette kind of deal, like the pro palettes that MAC Pro sell.

Inglot eyeshadows, clockwise from top left: matte 376, pearl 419, pearl 444 matte 382

I decided to start small and get a quad. The top right colour in the above image is a matte medium purple grey- pretty much like MAC Scene but much more blendable; the top right shadow is a metallic olive; the bottom left is a dark pink (ok so I had the promo images of MAC Stylishly Yours collection in my head, where the model had the pink eyeshadow and winged liner); and the bottom right is a warm silver.

From what I’ve seen so far from swatching, the colours, pigmentation, and blendability of the shadows have been very impressive (on par with some of the high end shadows I have used), but I guess the real test will be how it performs on the eyes. Will it fade or crease faster than MAC?

Inglot eye shadows swatched: matte 376, pearl 419, pearl 444 matte 382

I was going to flip the eyeshadow pans to look at the shade names, but realized very quickly that the magnet holding the pans were quite strong and I would probably crack the shadows if I attempted it. So this is the receipt, with what appears to be the colour codes of the eye shadows.
