The Estee Lauder Pure Color Eyeshadow Palette in Pretty Naughty (90 AUD) has been recently released in Australia as part of their Pretty Naughty Spring 2013 collection. The palette combines soft pastels (the ‘pretty’) with a bold charcoal centre (the ‘naughty’)- allowing you to create both soft day time looks and dramatic smoky eyes.
I don’t often use pastels or very ‘spring’ type colours regularly, so this palette has forced me to explore out of my comfort zone. I like that, and I think I will be dabbling in this colour family more over the coming Spring months in Australia. The quality of the shadows is great- finely milled, and some of these are surprisingly pigmented (particularly the charcoal black, the aqua blue, and the lilac shades).
The shades in this palette include a matte light aqua blue, a bronzey taupe shimmer, a lilac shimmer, a satin finish pale cool pink, and a shimmery charcoal in the centre. These are great colours for Spring, and the way I like to use this palette is to use two to three of these colours together in combination with other matte neutrals in my stash- I don’t think I can pull off wearing all five of these colours in the palette together in one look (although Paris from My Women Stuff does this very well).
Stay tuned for the upcoming FOTD featuring this palette!

Antipodean Beauties is a fun weekly challenge series for Aussie and NZ beauty bloggers, and I’ve decided to partake for the first time this week. The challenge this week was ‘RED’.
After multiple failed attempts at trying to recreate the red eyeshadow look seen on the runways every season lately, I decided to revert to the safer option of red on lips.
This is my favourite spring red lip at the moment- Illamasqua Ignite lipstick with a little bit of MAC Pro Longwear Lip Liner in What A Blast!

For Fall 2013/2014 Dior has released 32 shades of Rouge Dior lipstick and 12 shades of Dior Contour Lip Pencil, with Natalie Portman as the face of the campaign. I was fortunate enough to be sent the Rouge Dior #532 Plissé Soleil to review- my first Dior lipstick!
The luxurious formula of Rouge Dior contains a treatment to smooth and re-plump lips, therefore maximising the expression of each shade. Fine lines and grooves cast shadowy areas in which colour is lost, meaning it looks less pure and luminous.
Rouge Dior contains rock samphire extract which stimulates cellular renewal, smoothing lips, day after day. On smooth lips, colour shines, and light is constantly reflected between the two lips. Packed with spheres of hyaluronic acid for an instant re-plumping effect, lips are hydrated, filled out and curved and, dressed in radiant, satin shades.
Price: $50 AU rrp
Availability: Dior counters worldwide
Rouge Dior Plissé Soleil is a bright mandarin coral, which is a great spring/summer colour. It has medium opacity and a frosty finish (more obvious IRL than in the photos)- I like to blot the product down with a tissue to tone down the frostiness so it’s more like a glowy finish.
Plissé Soleil wears comfortably on the lips and is non drying- but the finish of the product does seem to emphasize any dry patches/lip lines a little, so prepping the lips with an exfoliant and moisturiser is a must for this one.
The packaging is super luxurious, as it always is with Dior. The tube feels satisfyingly heavy in my palm, and I adore the silver and inky midnight blue colour scheme with the classic CD engraving on the cap.

The Burberry Lip Velvets are currently my favourite matte lipstick formulation. Burberry Lip Velvets in Antique Pink and Rose Pink (reviewed on the blog in an earlier post) are staples in my makeup bag.
When I found out that the deep berry shade used on Cara Delevigne in the Burberry Lip Velvets ad (shown below- where she is looking into the mirror, holding a brush) was Pink Azalea, I suddenly needed to make it mine. In the space of 5 minutes after the MUA applied it on me, the credit card was being swiped and the lippy in the bag.
Pink Azalea is a darkened berry pink with full pigmentation in one swipe. Is it anything like the colour on the Burberry Ad? Not even close, but I love it anyway.
Even though it’s not a bright or dramatic colour, I think it’s quite a unique shade in this finish- and I don’t own any lipstick like it. It’s interesting and sophisticated at the same time. I’m a big fan of this for all occasions.
My only qualm about Pink Azalea is that Compared with Rose Pink and Antique Pink Lip Velvets, Pink Azalea feels drier on the lips and can emphasize lip lines when your lips are not moisturised (just like in these photos haha). I find that with a little bit of lip prepping TLC Pink Azalea sits a lot nicer and it’s well worth the extra effort in this case.

Liptember is an annual fundraising campaign held in September where women are encouraged to wear the designated Liptember lippy every day for a month- all proceeds raised through sales of the Liptember Lippy and donations go toward the Centre For Women’s Health and Lifeline.
I feel honored to be chosen as one of the official Liptember bloggers, and feel lucky to be involved in an issue which hits close to home and effects so many Australian women.
To be involved as a ‘lipette’, or donate to Liptember go to www.liptember.com.au. Check out daily updates on their facebook page and twitter. The Liptember Lippy will be stocked in all Chemist Warehouse, My Chemist and My Beauty Spot stores nationwide.
Some info I’d like to share from the Liptember website:
