NOTD- Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

nail swatch- Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday

I popped by Deborah Lippman cherry and my glitter nail polish cherry in one hit with this manicure (I use ‘manicure’ in the loosest possible sense of the word). It was grand.

Except when the time came to take the glitter polish off. Holy hounds of hell I hate removing glitter polish- now I know why all the nail bloggers have a big bottle of acetone on their desk.

The polish is so pretty though- multicoloured glitter in varying sizes and shapes in a clear base. It really is a ‘party in a bottle’  (not as harmful as that other party in a bottle- tequila).

I’m looking forward to trying this on different coloured bases and to do fun things like accent nails etc.

Got this from for $18 USD.

Pillar Box Red

I actually find it very hard to wear red on the nails, particularly true red. It just look a little silly and almost comical on me. It’s a beautiful colour though which would look amazing on cool toned girls.
I bought Butter London Pillar Box Red before I had that realisation. Oh wells… one for the beauty swap party coming up 🙂
Butter London polishes are ‘3 free’ (no toluene, no formaldehyde, no BDP) and their philosophy is ‘colour not carcinogens’.

NOTD: Butter London Union Jack Black

Hello beautiful people!

Hope Tuesday is treating you well so far 🙂

Butter London Union Jack Black
Union Jack Black is well… black.
I don’t know whether there is much variation in black polishes between high end and drugstore polishes but lets just say that I’m a huge sucker for Butter London and the chunky little bottles.

I love how a black polish brings an instant edginess and ‘tough girl’ vibe to whatever I’m wearing. I actually love wearing a shiny black polish with girly summer dresses.

NOTD: Borghese Mezzanotte Blue

Hello there!

I’m a big fan of dark vampy shades on my fingers, and I was searching for a good deep blue polish with no shimmer  and came across this colour..

Borghese Mezzanotte Blue nail swatch- please excuse the disgusting cuticles

It was exactly what I was looking for- an inky midnight blue. I found it a little hard to apply the colour evenly even with three coats but I’m not the best at nail polish application. It lasted a couple of days before minor chipping occurred.
