Autumn bridal makeup: berry lip, glowy eyes

_MG_9739

I’m still umming and ahh-ing about whether or not  to have a bold lip at my wedding (because church kiss), but I really love the idea of a deep berry lip during an Autumn wedding. Such a difficult decision to make! If you’ve worn a bold lip down the aisle, I’d love to hear how it went- did half of it end up on the groom?

I’m not sure Phil suits a vampy lip.

Berry lips soft smoky eyes bridal FOTD makeup breakdown…

Lush Massage Bars: The Girlfriend Hack.

Lush Massage Bars-2

…. or fiance hack *subtle hint*

These are solid bars of shea and cocoa butter, plant oils, and various blends of essential oils. The Massage Bars soften up as you rub it against warm skin, leaving a layer of oils with perfect amount of resistance for a massage. It also doubles as a rich hand and body moisturiser that leaves your hands feeling and smelling great.

From Dusk Till Dawn (RRP $12.50) comes in a little cone shape, which looks a little like the tip of a giant pencil (and if you rest it on your partner’s neck while you’re massaging,  it makes him look like a stegosaurus. So much fun.) It has a gorgeous candied citrus smell from the Sicilian lemon and sweet wild orange oil-  sweet but with a  zesty freshness. It also features ginkgo, guarana, and ginseng to invigorate.

Lush Massage Bars

Yes Yes Yes (RRP $13.95) is shaped like a bar of soap. It has a delicate jasmine and rose scent- if you use it as a body/hand moisturiser, it leaves you with a nice day time fragrance.

If you are using this several times a week as a moisturiser or massage oil it will last you a few weeks or so depending on how much you use each time.

Lush use Fair Trade cocoa and shea butter in these massage bars, so there are some extra feel-good vibes in there.

MooGoo Shea Sorbet Balm Review (and a Winter Skin Rescue Giveaway!)

Moogoo shea sorbet balm review

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Moogoo, particularly their body care products for my sensitive and eczema prone skin. Their Milk Wash and Milk Shampoo have been bathroom staples for years. MooGoo recently sent a care package with some new products that I hadn’t tried before (thanks guys!), and the product that I’ve been most excited about is their wonderful Shea Sorbet Balm ($17.95 AUD).

MooGoo says…

“For very dry and cracked skin, Shea Butter is one of the most intense moistursing ingredients. However Shea Buttter by istelf is too hard to be applied to the skin.

Our Shea Sorbet has been made for people we know with hands or feet  that are so dry the skin has begun cracking. We have called it Sorbet as we have fluffed it up to the consistency of Sorbet. Our Lime Essential Oil also makes it smell like fruit Sorbet.”

MooGoo Shea Butter Sorbet Balm

This is a multitasking product for feet, dry cuticles, elbows, and any dry sore patches that need more than the usual moisturising. The way that it’s been formulated (the hard butters emulsified with a small amount of water and apple cider vinegar), as well as the slightly whipped texture,  makes it quite easy to spread and absorb. This has been truly wonderful for my terrible dry feet, even better than my other favourite foot cream- Burt’s Bees Coconut Foot Creme- it’s less sticky and absorbs more easily. It’s great as a rescue product for my dry cuticles too- I like massaging it in after applying some hand cream.

Shea Sorbet Balm Ingredients: Shea Butter, Raw Coconut Oil, Natural Vitamin E, Allantoin, Water, Rhus Succedanea Fruit Wax, Cetearyl Alcohol, Polysorbate 60, Apple Cider Vinegar, Piroctone OlamineLime Oil , Hops Extract

Rimmel Oh My Gloss and new ScandalEyes Extreme Mascara: Review and Swatches

Rimmel Oh My Gloss Purrr... Glossy Cat #130, and Ooh La La #500: FOTD, Review and Swatches

Rimmel recently released a new line of colourful lipglosses inspired by Rita Ora  (the face of the collection). I was sent the shades Purrr… Glossy Cat #130, and Ooh La La #500 to try.

Purrr… Glossy Cat is a pale cool nude with medium to high pigmentation, pretty decent coverage for a pale nude. Ooh La La is a bright fuschia pink with medium pigmentation. Both products have a reasonably good wear time for a gloss on my lips (about 2hrs before it’s mostly faded)- I was surprised at the relatively good wear time of Glossy Cat for a nude gloss- although I did find that the product tended to accumulate at the inner part of the lips, which meant I needed to tidy up with a tissue before reapplying at the 2hr mark.

These do sit very comfortably on the lips, with a moisturising, cushiony feel and a non-sticky, lightweight formula.

Rimmel says…

“OMG! Get set to sing, shout and scream with pumped, hi-gloss, luscious lips. Pushing the boundaries of long-lasting lustre, Oh My Gloss! marries Rimmel’s Gloss Lock’ technology with Argan Oil and Vitamin E. The formula delivers up to 6 hours of crowd-roaring colour, shine and comfort. With its non-sticky, lightweight feel, your lip-look couldn’t get any better!”

Price: RRP $13.95 AUD

Availability: available from May 2015 from Priceline, Priceline Pharmacy, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Kmart, BIG W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths.

Rimmel has also released their ScandalEyes Extreme Mascara, with a 2 sided brush. I don’t often blog about mascaras, there are only a few that are remarkable- most of them are pretty ordinary and same-same on my lashes. This is a goody though, it really does volumise and lengthen damn well especially if you take the time to use both sides of the brush.

Price: $16.95
