– Matte light brown shade from Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage blended all over the top lid. I also smudged this under the bottom lashline concentrating on the outer half towards the temples.

– Rusty brown satin shade (the right side) of NARS Surabaya Eyeshadow Duo applied on the top lid close to the lashline and blended up stopping just before the crease.

Bridesmaid look/ work makeup – purple and pink and brown

Another possible bridesmaid look (see first post in this series here). In retrospect, I would deepen the purple in the outer V and make the eye makeup a little more structured so that it photographs better at a distance. I contoured with my bronzer, but I think a proper contouring shade (lately I’ve been using the Face Of Australia duo, which I quite like) is definitely called for.

Now that I think about it- it’s not really a bridal look at all. It’s more of a 9 to 5 work makeup look. Oh well.

brown and pink fotdcolage

– Urban Decay Buck eyeshadow from the Naked Palette blended all over the top lid until just past the crease.

– Matte aubergine shade from  Tom Ford Orchid Haze quad blended in outer V and smudged lightly under bottom lashline.

–  pale pink frosty shade from the Jane Iredale Getaway Palette applied wet close to the top lashline on the inner 1/2.

–  Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink to line.

– MAC Peaches blush on apples

MAC Bronzing Powder in Bronze to contour

NARS Velvet Matte pencil in Dolce Vita

– I layered NARS Pillow Talk gloss on top on the bottom photo – I think that photographs better, what do you think?

Bridesmaid look #1 : earthy greige eyes, pink lips

Bridesmaid look #1 : earthy greige eyes, pink lips

I knew for a long time that I would be doing my own makeup at my wedding- even before I got engaged. More recently I decided that I would like to do the makeup for my bridesmaids as well.

Bridal hair, on the other hand, is best left to a professional- and I’ve found someone in Hobart while I was there a few weeks ago.

I’m under no illusions that this will be an easy feat- and realise that taking on the responsibility of doing everyone’s makeup will require a fair bit of planning, and a number of ‘makeup trials’ to get to know my bridesmaids’ faces (monolids in particular will be a challenge).

Our wedding will be in a year’s time, and I’ll be throwing around some bridal makeup ideas. Some better than others, probably. Here is the first one.

Bridesmaid look #1 : earthy greige eyes, pink lips

– matte camel brown shade from Tom Ford Cocoa Mirage palette blended all over the lid to the crease

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe applied to the upper lid below the crease.

– MAC Scene eyeshadow (matte grey) on top of Tough as Taupe to set the product. I also used a little under the bottom lashline on the outer third, to tie things together. I would have probably preferred MAC Copperplate but it’s gone missing 🙁 🙁

– MAC Uninterrupted eyeshadow (matte mustard brown) to warm up the crease and smudged under the outer third of bottom lashline.

– Bobbi Brown Gel Eyeliner in Black Ink to line the upper lashline

– MAC Blushbaby

– MAC Bronzing powder in Bronze.

– NARS Audacious Lipstick in Anita

– NARS Sheer Glow in Fiji

– Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light

– Skindinavia Makeup Setting Spray.
