Pretty in pink: a Clinique Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is less than a day away, and frankly I can hardly wait. Tomorrow P and I are getting on a flight to Hobart for a much needed holiday (the last time I managed to get away for a holiday was my trip to New York in November 2011, and it’s getting to the stage where just getting through each day at work felt like torture. First world problems? Perhaps.)

Although I’m not a huge fan of chocolate or flowers, I do like having something pretty on my lips during V day. Miranda from Clinique HQ very kindly sent me her favourite Valentine’s lip products : Clinique Chunky Cherry Chubby Stick and Clinique Extreme Pink High Impact Lip Colour. I thought I would swatch, review, and FOTD them for you, loved up reader. ūüôā

Clinique Chubby Sticks Fuller Fig and Graped Up review

Clinique Chubby Sticks Fuller Fig and Graped Up

 Clinique say..

Super-nourishing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters. Just what dry, delicate lips need to feel comfortably soft and smooth. Eight natural-looking lip tints in all, each with a subtle sheen.

price: $35.00 AUD , $15 USD

availability: Clinique counters worldwide, www.clinique.com.au

Clinique Chubby Sticks Fuller Fig and Graped Up review

Clinique Chubby Sticks Fuller Fig and Graped Up

There’s something about wielding lip balm in the form of a giant crayon that¬†irresistibly¬†appeals to the little kid in me. I think the folks at Clinique played their psychology right for people like me who are a sucker for packaging.

Review

Colour:

Fuller Fig is a deep rose brown with surprisingly good pigmentation ¬†for a tinted balm (medium and buildable coverage). A really flattering colour for both warm and cool skin tones and a perfect ‘my lips but better’ colour for Fall. LOVE this.

Graped Up is a neutral brown shade, with sheer to medium coverage. Although it looks quite similar to Fuller Fig when swatched I find that Graped Up looks a bit flat against my skin tone (maybe cooler skin tones would suit this better). I don’t reach for this colour nearly as much as I do Fuller Fig.
