Every time I use my Fyrinnae shadows I’m reminded of just how much I love them. The colours have depth and complexity, pigmentation is always amazing, and they are so silky and finely milled. I’ve managed to finally get onto their website and make another order of shadows recently (including two backups of their AMAZING taupe shadow ‘Beholder’). I can hardly wait until they arrive!
– Soleo Organics All Natural Sunscreen (reviewed here as part of my Summer Series). I like how it gives me a glowiness underneath my foundation on days when my skin is parched.
– NARS Sheer Glow Fiji foundation
– Two Faced Shadow Insurance to prime lids
– Fyrinnae eyeshadow ‘Samhain Spirits’ (swatch and review here) on mobile lid
– Urban Decay Buck eyeshadow from the Naked Palette blended in crease.
– Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow in Skinny Jeans smudged along bottom lashline
– Makeup Forever HD Blush in PDA (review coming!)
– Chantecaille Lip Chic Zinnia (review, swatches, and FOTD here)
Hope you liked the look!Posted by myfunnyvalentine on Dec 12th, 2011 in FOTD | 33500 comments. Earth+tones+with+Fyrinnae+and+Chantecaille%3A+a+weekend+FOTD2011-12-12+06%3A58%3A10myfunnyvalentinehttp%3A%2F%2Fmyfunnyvalentineblog.com%2F%3Fp%3D3350
For this Face of the Day, I was going for a ‘english rose’ type look with soft peach tones, flushed cheeks, and bee stung lips. I realise that colouring-wise I’m as far from an ‘english rose’ as you could get- so please indulge me here.
I’ve been crushing on my SAX lipstick in Plum Spice lately (reviewed here). I like wearing this deep rose brown shade blended into the lips as a stain (I find that brown based shades can look a little 80’s and dated if worn with a defined edge, so I always avoid lip liners with these shades).
– BurnOut Ocean Tested Physical Sunscreen SPF 30 +
– Lancome Teinte Idole Ultra foundation
– Too Faced Shadow Insurance
– NARS Grand Palais Duo (dusty pink side) on the mobile lid close to the lashline. (Review, swatches, FOTD here.)
– Urban Decay Toasted eyeshadow from Naked Palette (reviewed and swatched here) all over top lid to crease
– MAC Blacktrack Fluidline
– MAC Chromagraphic pencil NC15/NW20 on waterline.
– MUFE Waterproof eyebrow corrector
– SAX Plum Spice lipstick (reviewed and swatched here)
Hope you like this look!
And since Diz hasn’t been seen on My Funny Valentine for awhile- here is a photo of him patrolling the hallway.

One of the products that appealed to me the most at the preview of the Illamasqua Theatre of the Nameless collection was the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Androgen. Probably because Mikele (one of the MUAs at Illamasqua) was wearing it on his lids and cheeks and he looked so damn gorgeous.
I must admit I squee-ed a little when I saw Androgen in my event goody bag.
price: 44 AUD (Australian rrp) 24 USD (US RRP)
availability: Illamasqua counters worldwide, Sephora , www.illamasqua.com
Androgen Cream Pigment is a multitasking hero, and is made to be used anywhere on the face.

I was delighted to discover an Ellis Faas Summer Set in my mail a few weeks ago. The winter here has been long and bitterly cold so I was so glad to see a little glint of summer, even if it came in the form of makeup (who am I kidding- especially when it comes in the form of makeup!)
The Summer 2011 Gift set is a selection of products that aims to ‘create a bronzed summer look’
– Light E303
– Blush S303
– Glazed Lips L309
availability: MECCA Cosmetica (Australia), Bergdorf Goodman (US) www.ellisfaas.com (international)
note: last time I checked, shipping to Australia from the Ellis Faas website was $7.50.
E303 is a gorgeous bronze-gold with a highly metallic finish.
Although I have lots of bronze-gold eye products already, E303 is worlds apart from the products in my collection due to the intensity of the colour as well as it’s incredible wear time and resistance to both fading and creasing with no need for primer!
In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen anything perform on the eye quite like it.
The packaging is my only issue with this product. I find it a little awkward to use, especially if you are trying to blend the product on your eye with the applicator- the more you blend, the more product oozes out and you just end up with way too much. I think the best way to get around this problem is to apply the product with the brush applicator and then use a separate brush to blend.
note: the photo of E303 on my lids really does not do this product justice. The eyeshadow is 100x more intense in real life.
Description taken from MOR website..
This high-gloss Lip Nectar renders sweet lips that beg to be kissed! Worn alone or over lipstick, create the perfect pout that will leave admirers swooning
Produced with sparkling sweet lychee flowers united with ripe Berries, soft powdery Florals and the slightest hint of Green Forest Woods
price: AU$19.95 / US$14.00
Availability: www.morcosmetics.com (ships internationally) , Myer department store (Australia)
While I was having a browse through Myer last week, I made a beeline for the MOR section to have a play with their products and better acquaint myself with their scents.
My greedy little eyes fell on the MOR Lip Nectars in probably the most elaborate packaging I have ever seen encasing a lip gloss. Of course, I
needed wanted to make it mine. I picked Lychee Flower because it was a beautiful colour, and one of the more pigmented glosses in their range.
Lychee Flower deepened petal pink with no shimmer and an incredible glassy shine. So so beautiful.
It has quite good pigmentation for a gloss, with about 40% coverage with one layer.
I found the Lip Nectars quite comfortable on the lips, although they do have quite a thick texture, and a moderate amount of tackiness similar in feel to MAC Lipglasses. Personally I don’t mind a little bit of tackiness because it usually means that the gloss is going to be longer wearing.
I’d make sure to tie my hair up if I’m wearing this on a windy day though!
