SAX Lip Gloss in #82 Tender Pink

Tender Pink is a medium pigmentation petal pink gloss that is incredibly flattering on the lips. Despite bright ink on the tube, it’s actually very wearable and natural.

As with all SAX lip glosses (I review Taupe and Peony lip gloss here) the glosses have a lovely cushiony moisturising texture and average wear time. Only drawback is the very strong vanilla batter scent (which I find a little overwhelming)

SAX Rich Lip Colour Lipstick in #28 Coral

SAX Rich Colour Lipstick #28 is named Coral, but to my eye it is more like a barbie doll pink. It’s turned out a little warmer in the photographs but it has no hint of coral when seen in person.

I’m a bit shy when it comes to pinks, so this is not a colour that I would normally wear- but if you are fond of bright girly bubblegum lips then this would be worth checking out!

The lipstick is non-drying and has a great wear time of 4+ hours on me. They are also heavily scented with a vanilla cake fragrance.

Barely there makeup feat. SAX Spiced Plum lipstick

Hi all!

For this Face of the Day, I was going for a ‘english rose’ type look with soft peach tones, flushed cheeks, and bee stung lips. I realise that colouring-wise I’m as far from an ‘english rose’ as you could get- so please indulge me here.

I’ve been crushing on my SAX lipstick in Plum Spice lately (reviewed here). I like wearing this deep rose brown shade blended into the lips as a stain (I find that brown based shades can look a little 80′s and dated if worn with a defined edge, so I always avoid lip liners with these shades).

There’s been a lot of buzz in the blogosphere about the Australian drug store brand SAX cosmetics in the last 12 months, and I’ve been dying to try their lip products since reading Tine’s rave review of the SAX lip gloss in Coral (a drugstore product that could pass for Chanel? Yes please!).

I was fortunate enough to be contacted by their PR rep about trialing some of their lip products a couple of months back.

SAX Taupe lipgloss

This is my favourite out of the four, and something that has become somewhat of a handbag staple lately.

SAX Taupe lipgloss is a gorgeous deepened rosy caramel with incredible pigmentation (medium to full coverage) and lasting power (about 2hrs which is way above average for a gloss on me). Taupe is one of those lippies that look amazing with anything from smokey eyes to no-makeup makeup looks.

It also wears very comfortably on the lips- cushiony, moisturising, and non sticky.

Only thing I don’t like about this otherwise stellar product is the strong vanilla batter scent, which is a little too sickly sweet for my liking – thankfully the scent fades quickly.

SAX Peony lipgloss

Peony is a pale, cool toned doll pink that is a favourite amongst quite a number of bloggers.

I’ve never been able to pull off cool toned pale pinks (they always make me look like a zombie, or a hooker, or in the worst case scenario- a zombie hooker) so I found Peony didn’t suit me. It does, however, look amazing on Stef (see her lip swatch here) .

It is a little sheerer than SAX Taupe lip gloss (sheer to medium pigmentation), and has the same lovely texture, great lasting power, and scent.
